The Foundation course is a certificate course which provides a basic structure for coaching & officiating. This one-day course is the prerequisite to obtain your level 1 coaching or refereeing qualification.
The delivery of this course is structured to integrate both classroom workshops and on field presentations. To enhance learning outcomes the course has been slit into the following sections.
The morning session will cover all SmartRugby components including laws, technique, tactical application of technique, and safety.
The afternoon session will move to the field and will cover The coaching process, Catching activities, Tactical awareness, Re-emphasis of law and safe techinques.
You do not need to have any previous coaching or rugby experience to attend this course, as it caters to beginners and experienced coaches.
To obtain your level 1 Coaching Accreditation following the course, you will need to also complete the following components:
